Scottish Highland’s ‘Lookout’

The summer has come to the end and has been full of rest and relaxation.  Instead of sewing I have been collecting new ideas for future works.  I took a break up in the Scottish Highlands, in the area of the Trossarchs.  It was the first time I have been up to this area and I wasn’t disappointed.  The scenery was pure inspiration with the Lochs and mountains, vegetation and moody skies.  A favourite place was Loch Voil with a super drive along side the loch leading to the ‘Lookout’ created by Angus Ritchie and Daniel Tyler.  The mirrored cabin sits half hidden in the landscape, as the mirrors reflect the scenery around enabling the cabin to vanish before your eyes.  A wooden bench inside gives mesmerising views of the loch and views beyond and allowed the sitter to hide in a secret magical place.  To add to this wonderful experience is a great hotel / restaurant called the Monachyle Mhor, which gives welcome food and drink to the hungry tourist!  Perfect way to spend a day.
